The day we met our Maltster at joe white maltings

It was during Sydney Beer Week October 2017 that we met our Maltster (and his magnificent malt house).

Commissioned in 2012, Joe White’s state of the art facility that spans 30,000sqm in Minto in the Southern Parts of Sydney is one of the newest in the country. The tour provided an opportunity to soak up the sights and smells of one of the biggest and most immaculately maintained maltings in Australia. While the majority of the plant’s 300 tonne daily output is exported, a small amount makes its way into craft breweries and we’re hoping to increase this in the near future.





Cargill Malt’s Sydney malting facility was commissioned in May 2012 and is the newest addition to its global production portfolio. The facility combines our years of malting experience with sophisticated automation and technology to deliver high quality Joe White malt to the world in a safe, responsible and sustainable way. The facility has a rated capacity of 110,000 metric tonnes per annum and processes malting barley sourced from NSW’s prime growing regions. Credit Cargill Maltings.
