Family owned Simpsons Malt has launched ‘a year of celebration’ to mark the company’s 150th anniversary. Simpsons Malt is planning a series of events for staff and customers including a day out at Kelso races, lunch at Lord’s Cricket Ground, sponsorship of a number of agricultural shows and involvement in local initiatives both in Berwick-upon-Tweed and Tivetshall St Margaret, Norfolk, the location of the company’s other maltings.

It was fantastic to see Australian craft brewing so well represented with a large number of our brewers participating in judging the World Beer Cup entrants.

This unique malt functions as a “debittered” black malt, contributing colour with the added benefit of smooth, roasted/chocolate/coffee flavours.
